From the “Do what I say, not what I do,” dept.

I was reading the Jan. ‘09 Reader’s Digest in a doctor’s office today. They did a feature where they asked various “leaders,” to give our new president advice.

Guess who wrote the following:

“A top priority will be to create a White House where forceful argument can take place. Plain speaking, straight talk and dissent must be encouraged, with participants fully prepared, ideas offered with deference to opposing views and colleagues not subjected to self-serving leaks. The power of the oval office can cower critics and silence disagreement; the chief executive must labor hard to make it a place of vigorous debate.”

And the writer is….. Karl Rove. Karl Freakin’ Rove! Swear to God.

“Not subjected to self-serving leaks”? Never mind how Rove managed to write that with a straight face (assuming he did). How did RD run it with apparent seriousness?

Next: Pot espouses on kettle’s coloration.
