People round these parts will break this one down based entirely on Penn State issues. I think the real issues are MSUs.
The Spartans aren’t that young, but they’re new to this. And they’re on the road. And their motivation isn’t as clear as Penn State’s, since even a win probably won’t get them Roses.
Both teams can run the ball, but Penn State has the better defense overall, and especially run defense. From a strategic standpoint the game is similar to Penn State-Ohio State - the Lions will dare MSU QB Hoyer to throw, and he’ s a 49 percent passer.
I’m not sure Penn State’s passing game is good enough right now to blow the Spartans out. But I think the line - Lions by a whopping 14 1/2 - is trying to tell us something.
Penn State 23, Michigan State 13.
I’ve never even been to California.
