Penn State-Ohio State prediction

I was ready to pick the Buckeyes 4-5 days ago. Then I read and heard some things that seemed designed to sell the Ohio State case but had the opposite effect on me.

I don’t think what each team did last week matters as much as what happened the previous seven. In fact, what happened last week was if anything to Penn
State’s advantage- the Buckeyes thinking they’ve
restored order to their world, Penn State having some early problems stopping Michigan that defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will learn from.

I don’t think Penn State’s history at Columbus matters at all. Different team. Different approach.

Here’s what does matter. Penn State has the better offensive line, and that’s always where you should look first. Penn State’s offense can take whatever the other guys give it.

Ohio State has one big-time corner, and Penn State has three big-time receivers.

I think – and this is just a hunch – that Ohio State has a quarterbacks controversy within its locker room. That hasn’t mattered much to this point. But I think Penn
State is going to crowd the line of scrimmage and dare Terrelle Pryor to throw the ball down the field. I don’t think he can do it. That’s when the QB controversy starts to matter.
Starkie’s prediction, on this week’s Low Post, that Todd Boeckmann will play Saturday was a wise one, it says here.

The more I think about this one the more I like the Lions. Maybe I’m nuts, but I’m not even sure it’s going to be real difficult.

Penn State 30, Ohio State 20.

You heard me.
