weekend redux

Evidently a Denver sports bar held some sort of contest Monday night and the winner got to write the lede of the AP Rockies-Phillies game story:

“Now that there’s no playoff pressure, the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Colorado Rockies with relative ease.”

Oh sure, NOW you win in Colorado, you choking pieces of sewage…

On second thought, maybe a Phillies fan wrote it. Certainly it couldn’t have been, like, a journalist…

In other news:

Rasheed Wallace has always been a strange bird, and now it appears that the Detroit Pistons have become an odd sort of Wallace cult. That makes the Pistons an at least occasionally dysfunctional family, and gives the Sixers, it says here, a puncher’s chance to send Detroit home.

First Jesse the Body and now this. Can you smell what the Barack is cooking?
