Just watched the second half of the Philly Catholic league girls’ final, Archbishop Carroll vs. Cardinal O’Hara at the Palestra. O’Hara won 48-45. Unless I’m badly missing something (always a possibility), either of those teams would kill any girls’ team I’ve seen this year, both were stocked with non-seniors, and the Catholic League joins the PIAA next year…
I said in Saturday night’s post that the Columbia boys got the toughest first-round state-tournament assignment of any local team. That has to be amended - When was the last time a Class AAA team opened states against the Philly Public League champ? That would be never, until Friday, when Lancaster Catholic goes to Philly to deal with Communications Tech…
