Good stuff on Lloyd Carr here, including some things I didn’t know: It has long been suspected that Carr would leave after Chad Henne, Mike Hart and Jake Long graduated. I knew that part. What I didn’t know is that his contract was restructured last year so that after this year, he could be paid for administrative duties, not coaching football.
Also, Carr’s assistants were all given two-year deals a year ago, so that if a new guy came in for the 2008 season and cleaned house, Michigan would still pay them for at least a year.
Writers from Louisiana reportedly got on Carr’s teleconference this week and asked him to recommend a successor to himself. Brutal. LSU coach Les Miles, remember, is a Michigan guy.

Herewith two smart Patriots fans rationalize (sort of) Cameragate and overstate their team’s national impact. It’s not nearly as bad as I’m making it sound.
The self-absorbed melodrama of Philadelphia sports fans has long cried out for satire. Leave it to the Onion.
