in Philadelphia is over. It seemed to fly by, really. Flashing the heart and people skills for which they’ve become famous, the Eagles released the former McCaskey and Syracuse QB Wednesday, after signing him to a free agent contract Tuesday. He was a quasi-Eagle for one day.

Seriously, why would you do that to a kid?

(PS: Supposedly the Birds had to release Patterson because they needed to add a tight end to the roster. Should you be stretched that tight in June? Whatever.)
