Eagles’ junior guard tabbed for hot shooting stretch
She is one of the hottest snipers in the L-L League.
She has hit at least one 3-pointer in her last five games in a row.
And she’s helped her team win two of its last three games, including a clutch victory that knocked their opponent out of first place.
She is Cocalico junior guard Bethany Noll, and she is the LancSports.com girls’ basketball Player of the Week.
What a torrid stretch for the Eagles’ 5-6 shooter, who is averaging 12.2 points with 11 3-pointers in Cocalico’s last five games.
And she came up extremely huge last Friday night, dropping in a career-high 16 points with a pair of treys in Cocalico’s 53-48 Section 3 win over Elco, which knocked the Raiders out of a first-place tie and left Manheim Central alone in first place in the section hunt.
It was Cocalico’s first league win this season, and it featured a big night from Noll, Amber Daub, who scored a career-high 10 points with two 3-pointers, and Lauren Waskowicz, who scored a career-high 10 points with a trey against Elco.
Through 10 games, Noll has scored a team-best 99 points – 9.9 per game – and has a team-high 14 3-pointers. She hit three 3’s in back-to-back games – Dec. 29, when she scored 15 points in a 51-26 romp over Antietam, and again last Tuesday, when she scored 11 points in a 9-point setback to Northern Lebanon.
Cocalico, which is 4-6 overall, has 27 3-pointers, as Noll and guard Jordan Page (9) have combined for 23 bombs.
Cocalico will look to play spoiler again Monday, when the Eagles take on first-place Manheim Central in Denver.
