Football coach steps down after 11 seasons
This just in …
After 11 seasons, two trips to the District 3 playoffs and three winning seasons in a row, Jack Beidler has resigned his post as head football coach at Northern Lebanon.
Athletic director Rob Snyder confirmed Monday morning that Beidler had tendered his letter of resignation and will no longer coach the Vikings.
Beidler has helped mold a winning program over the last several seasons in Fredericksburg.
In 2007 the Vikings went 7-4 overall and reached the District 3 playoffs for the first time since 1991. Northern Lebanon lost in the first round to eventual Triple-A runner-up Gettysburg.
In 2008 the Vikings again went 7-4 overall and reached the District 3 playoffs for the second year in a row, falling to Conrad Weiser in the first round.
This past season, Northern Lebanon made it three winning seasons in a row with a 6-4 overall mark – but the Vikings just missed out on a District 3 Triple-A playoff bid. Northern Lebanon went 4-3 in Section 3 games this past season.
Beidler’s career mark was 40-72 in 11 seasons – 20-12 in the last three.
Snyder also said that Northern Lebanon will begin an immediate search for Beidler’s replacement.
