Beavers’ coach chats about Hailey Carangelo’s D-I scholarship

When the basketball season tips off in, oh, a couple of weeks (where is the time flying?), Lebanon Catholic coach Patti Hower will begin her 32nd season on the Beavers’ bench.

Hower has compiled quite the record. Her teams are a staggering 583-283, and if the Beavers can match last year’s 17-win season, Hower would join the rarified air of the 600-win club later this winter.

And did I mention Lebanon Catholic has won 15 District 3 Single-A titles?

One of Hower’s prized pupils, senior 1,000-point-scorer Hailey Carangelo, signed a national letter of intent with Division I St. Francis University this week.

I chatted with Coach Hower about Carangelo’s big decision, about her program, and about why the Beavers have been so successful for so long under her watch.
