SECTION 1
BACK OF THE WEEK – Penn Manor LB Garrett Young came up huge on defense for the Comets with 14 total tackles (6 solos) and a pass deflection, and he also blocked Adam Zipko’s potential go-ahead 31-yard field goal with 1:51 to play in regulation in the Comets’ 14-12 win over Warwick.
There was no Lineman of the Week in Section 1.
SECTION 2
BACK OF THE WEEK – Conestoga Valley RB Kevin Kelley was up to his old tricks, piling up 335 rushing yards on 34 carries and scoring four touchdowns in the Buckskins’ 35-14 win over Lebanon, which put CV alone in second place in the Section 2 race. Kelley is up to 1,685 yards and 22 TD – both tops in the league.
LINEMAN OF THE WEEK – Elizabethtown OG/LB David Kennedy had a high blocking grade on O, and on D he made 10 solo tackles (3 for losses), forced a fumble and had a pair of sacks in the Bears’ 27-0 setback to Manheim Central.
SECTION 3
BACK OF THE WEEK – Northern Lebanon QB Tanner Dresch completed 4-of-6 passes for 46 yards and a TD and he rushed 12 times for 122 yards and scored twice in the Vikings’ 27-8 win over Donegal.
LINEMAN OF THE WEEK – Northern Lebanon TE/LB Charlito Iguwagu had a 92 percent blocking grade and a pancake block on offense, and on defense he was in on 12 tackles, including a pair for losses, in the Vikings’ 27-8 defeat of Donegal.
