Black Knights’ forward named to All-American Soccer Team
Hempfield senior Kelli Joline has been named to the ESPN Spring Girls’ Soccer All-American Team as honorable mention pick.
The Black Knights’ high-scoring forward is the only L-L League player to be named to ESPN’s list, which you can find here.
Joline, who has already made a verbal commitment to play soccer for Division I High Point University, scored seven goals and had six assists during the regular season last spring for Hempfield, which went 13-3 in the regular season, finished second in Section 1, and then made a run all the way to the PIAA Triple-A state championship game.
Hempfield fell to Lower Dauphin 4-0 in the title game.
Joline was an L-L League All-Star last spring, one year after a breakout sophomore season for the Knights, when she was named Section 1 MVP, was an L-L League All-Star, an All-State pick and an NSCAA All-East Regional selection. She was also named Lancaster Newspapers’ Player of the Year after her sophomore season.
Joline and the Knights will try and get back to the state final for the second year in a row next spring, before she heads for High Point.
