Special event planned for this Friday’s Garden Spot vs. Elizabethtown football game in New Holland …

The Garden Spot Varsity Club is sponsoring “Fall Fest Friday” this week when the Spartans, on Homecoming Night, host the Bears in an L-L League Section 2 football game.

The Varsity Club will be collecting canned foods and non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Water Street Ministries.

“The purpose of the Varsity Club is for the athletes to give back to the community and encourage good sportsmanship,” said Garden Spot student-athlete Lauren Taylor, who is president of the Varsity Club.  “Our community supports us so much that I thought it was time that we gave back to the community, and I thought a canned-food drive would be perfect.”

So bring canned food items and non-perishable food items to the Garden Spot vs. E-town football game Friday night in New Holland to help out the Varsity Club, and to help out the Water Street Ministries.
