Golden Mules’ coach wraps up win over Oxford, looks ahead to section opener
Make that a two-game winning streak for Solanco heading into L-L League Section 2 play, compliments of the Golden Mules’ 28-19 non-league win over Oxford last Saturday night in Quarryville.
Solanco capped its three-game home stand with wins over Kennard-Dale and Oxford and after a rough-and-tumble loss to undefeated Penn Manor in Week 1.
Up next for Solanco is its first road trip – at Elizabethtown in the section opener for both teams.
Don’t forget: The Mules and the Bears (oh my) shared the Section 2 crown in 2007, and this game is usually a trench-warfare, slugfest sort of battle.
I caught up with Solanco coach Joe Pearson after the Oxford game. We put a capper on that victory, talked about the Mules’ balance (particularly at running back) and trench play, and set up the section opener vs. E-town.
