Cocalico’s Jordan Page // LNP photoCocalico junior field hockey standout Jordan Page – fresh off an All-State season last fall – has given a verbal commitment to accept a full athletic scholarship offer from Syracuse University.

Page, whose mom, Krista Page, is Cocalico’s coach, had a standout sophomore season for the Eagles, when she scored 12 goals and added 11 assists from her midfield spot, helping Cocalico win the Section 2 championship, advance to the district playoffs and finish 14-8 overall.

Syracuse, which competes in the Big East, was a Final Four team a year ago under coach Ange Bradley, who won national coach of the year honors after guiding the Orange to the Big East championship and to a 22-2 overall record – plus a No. 3 national ranking at the end of the season.

I chatted with Page about her decision to pick Syracuse – and why she gave a verbal commitment before the start of her junior season - and about one of her heroes and major influences, former Cocalico star and U.S. Olympian Dana Sensenig.
