Elco’s Mark Evans - coached East over West in PSFCA All-Star Game // LNP photoThe East team beat the West team 37-22 in the PSFCA All-Star Football Game on Friday night at Mansion Park in Altoona.

Elco’s Mark Evans coached the victorious East team, which feasted on seven turnovers, including five recovered fumbles.

Ouch, babe.

Not a ton of stats for the eight Lancaster-Lebanon League alums that played in the game.

After sifting through what I could find, here’s what I came up with:

Lebanon’s Jordan Clentimack, a Dean College recruit, and the L-L League’s all-time leader in receiving yards, had two catches for 46 yards.

Pequea Valley’s Sean Persch, a C.W. Post recruit, had one catch for 15 yards.

And Lebanon’s Charles Lee, a Dean College recruit, was credited with a forced safety, giving the East two points.

You can find a complete recap from the game from the Altoona Mirror here.

Mr. Reinhart, I don't know which "View From The Pressbox" you had of the PSFCA All-Star game in Altoona on Friday, June 19, but from my viewpoint, your blog did a great disservice to what even the PCN announcers commented that if there were an MVP in the game, this Lancaster-Lebanon player would be a top candidate: Penn Manor's Cody Booth. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe that Penn Manor is still in the L-L league.) I watched the game, and then tape of the game, using slow motion to confirm statistics for Booth and here are his stats from the DE position: two sacks for minus 12 yards; four solo tackles for losses of 5, 3, 1, and 2, and the one yard loss was on a critical 4th down and less than a yard to go for the West; two hurries, one of which clearly and directly caused an interception that was run back by the East's DB for a touchdown at what may well have been the pivotal turning point of the game; and at least four assists. Not bad for a young man playing with a painful, limiting second degree separated shoulder suffered in practice earlier in the week, no? Seems to me, since the L-L league is your beat, that you owe Booth some props, if not some ink, since it appears to me that Booth had a substantially bigger impact on the outcome of the game than Clentimack, Persch, and/or Lee, all put together. Just thought you might be interested.
