Eagles’ speedster chats about upcoming track meets, caps prep football career

Last spring, he was the L-L League’s Fastest Man, winning the 100, 200 and 400 in the league championship meet.
He didn’t quite match that unbelievable feat this spring, but Cocalico senior Kyle Fisher can still scoot with the best of them.
After finishing third in the 100, Fisher came back and won the 200 in the league meet, and when the District 3 Meet gets started Friday at Shippensburg University, Fisher will be seeded second in the 200 (21.98) and seventh in the 100 (10.81).
And it certainly wouldn’t be a Kyle Fisher conversation without dropping some football talk in here. The talented tailback who helped Cocalico reach the District 3 playoffs for the second year in a row last fall will continue his football career at Bloomsburg University.
Fisher rushed for 1,714 yards and 25 touchdowns last fall, and he was named to the Triple-A Associated Press All-State Team (as a d-back, which he chats about in this Podcast, so stay tuned).
He will play in the L-L League Tri-County All-Star Football Game next Saturday night at 7 at Manheim Central, and he will play in the PSFCA East-West All-Star Game in June in Altoona before shuffling off to Bloom - where he’s slated to play wideout.
Fisher was a finalist for the Manheim Touchdown Club Player of the Year award, which went to Lebanon senior QB James Capello. I was able to catch up with Fisher after the banquet Tuesday night at the Lancaster Host Resort, and chat about the upcoming district track meet, about his decision to play football for Bloomsburg, about all things speed, and some reminiscing about his days at Cocalico.
