Warwick poised to name Mike Neuman as next head girls’ basketball coach

According to several sources, Mike Neuman will be Warwick’s next head girls’ basketball coach.

Neuman, who teaches math at Warwick High, will be recommended to the school board at its May meeting.

Former Elco and Penn State standout Ashli Schwab, who was the head coach at Penn Manor for one season, was also a finalist for the position. Schwab is a teacher at Conestoga Valley.

This will be Neuman’s first head-coaching gig. He has previously served as an assistant coach for Warwick’s and Cedar Crest’s girls’ basketball programs. He’s also a boys’ soccer assistant coach at Warwick.

Should he get school-board approval, Neuman would replace Matt Reber, who stepped down following this past season after leading the Warriors to a 63-77 mark in his six seasons on the bench.

If Neuman gets the job at Warwick, there will still be one girls’ coaching vacancy in the L-L League – Columbia.
