Pioneers’ guard chats after state-championship game vs. Archbishop Carroll
If I had to pick an MVP for Lampeter-Strasburg’s run to the PIAA Triple-A state-championship game last Saturday at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center against Archbishop Carroll, I’d have to go with Danielle Rittenhouse.
L-S has such a balanced attack, and everyone chips in.
But Rittenhouse played above and beyond in the postseason. She was fantastic. And I said it before during this season, and I’ll say it one more time … no 5-foot-7 player in the L-L League played ‘bigger’ than Rittenhouse.
She played well in the state-title game too, chipping in with 10 points to close her career in a Pioneers’ uniform with 1,025 points.
I caught up with Ms. Rittenhouse one last time outside of the Pioneers’ locker room in the Bryce Jordan Center late Saturday. We chatted about the game, about L-S’s amazing journey, and about the Pioneers’ seniors and all the cool things they got to experience.
