Super Bowl pick

Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald.

Anybody else sick of hearing about Larry Stinking Fitzgerald, already? Enough! Yeah, he’s good. Yeah, he’s made some nice catches. We get it. Woop-d-freaking-do.

I swear his name is in gigantic bold type, constantly running across the bottom of ESPN’s sports ticker. Just his name. Nothing else.

<Gut hunch: Larry Fitzgerald is the No. 1 pick in everyone’s fantasty draft next season.>

You’d think the Steelers are playing against Larry Fitzgerald – not the Cardinals – on Sunday.

Fitzgerald takes the snap from Fitzgerald and fakes the handoff to Fitzgerald … now here’s Fitzgerald back to pass … he gets a good block from Fitzgerald … he has Fitzgerald in the slot, but he’s looking deep to Fitzgerald … here’s Fitzgerald’s pass … now let’s go to Ed Werder in Dallas for this report on the Cowboys, and then back to Chris Berman for more of his silly nicknames and ridiculous sound effects during the highlights … and how many more interviews with Joe Montana from ‘radio row’ do I have to stomach on sports radio?

Yeah, I’ve had about enough of the NFL and the lead-up to the Super Bowl. Two weeks is way, way, way too long. Just play the stinking game already.

Anyhoo … ah yes, the Super Bowl pick.

You know my track record with predictions. They’re not … they’re not good.

Fortunately, I didn’t receive much guff over my Oklahoma-over-Florida pick in the BCS title game. Thanks for not flooding my email box with insults. Much obliged.

Stillers vs. Cardinals, Sunday, 6:28 p.m. Gotta be honest: I’m more anxious to see what Springsteen plays during the halftime show (my guess: his new single and Born to Run) and which commercials make me laugh out loud. I’ll be sick of Madden by the end of the first quarter. Whap!

It says here that if Pittsburgh can contain that Fitzgerald guy, the Steelers should be in good shape, because the Cardinals can’t run the ball (I don’t want to hear about Edge James getting like 90 yards in that one playoff game; who cares?).

Love the way Pittsburgh plays D, and Big Ben always finds ways to make big plays in crunch time.

I do think Arizona will keep it close, but the pick is Pittsburgh.

Steelers 28, Cardinals 20.

Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald.

You do realize that Fitzgerald is something like 100 yards away from having more receiving yards in a season + postseaon than anyone in NFL history, right? He is the best player on the NFC champion and the best offensive player in the Super Bowl, so a little hype is in order.
