Blue Streaks’ soph sniper chats about big win over Cedar Crest
Big, big win for Manheim Township last Friday night, when the Blue Streaks held off Cedar Crest 47-41 and took over sole possession of first place in Section 1 of the L-L League with four games to go.
Kiersten Green’s fingerprints were all over Township’s win.
The sophomore sensation did not the start the game – it was Senior Night at Township, and the seniors got the starting nod for the Streaks – but when she got in the game, she immediately made her presence felt.
Green scored all 9 of Township’s second-quarter points, and she scored 9 of her career-high 25 points in the fourth quarter, including a clutch 3-pointer, when the Streaks finally caught and passed the Falcons.
Green is seventh in the league in scoring (16.0) and she leads the team in 3-pointers (19).
She has helped Township vault to the top of the section standings, and she’s one of the top sophomores in the area.
I chatted with Ms. Green after Township’s huge win over Cedar Crest. We talked about the clutch victory, about Township’s meteoric rise, and about how the Streaks will approach these final two weeks.
