Former Penn Manor sharpshooter chats about her career with the Blue Jays
When Erin Walton completed her senior season for Elizabethtown College’s women’s basketball team last winter, she took her 1,702 career points with her.
She finished as the second-leading scorer in the history of the program, and she averaged 16 points per game last season for the Blue Jays, who narrowly missed out on a trip to the conference playoffs.
So who is going to get more shots in E-town’s offense this season?
It sure looks like it’s going to be Penn Manor grad Megan Quinn, a senior sharpshooter who is off to a quick start for the Jays so far this season.
E-town slipped to 0-3 following a 69-65 loss to Moravian on Wednesday night, but Quinn had her best game of the season. The 5-10 wing scored a season-high 18 points, yanked down a career-high 14 rebounds and hit her first three 3-pointers of the season against the Greyhounds.
Quinn also scored 10 points against Lynchburg last week, and through three games she’s averaging 11.3 points per game for the Jays.
I caught up with Quinn after the Moravian game, and we chatted about her playing days at Penn Manor, about her career up to this point at E-town, and about the Jays’ expectations for this season.
Quinn is anxious to have a big senior season, and she love for it to be extended into the playoffs.
