Raiders’ coach chats after loss to Lancaster Catholic, looks ahead to postseason

What a great ride by Elco.

The Raiders won five games in a row down the stretch to put themselves in line to tie Lancaster Catholic for the L-L League Section 3 championship last Friday.

But the Crusaders took care of business, topping Elco 42-7 to clinch the section crown outright. It was Catholic’s fourth Section 3 championship in a row (shared or outright).

I caught up with Elco coach Mark Evans after the game, and he gave me the lowdown on Catholic’s success – but also about his team, which made that fabulous run to Week 10 – and into Week 11, where the Raiders will take on Manheim Central in the first round of the District 3 Triple-A playoffs.
