Eagles’ shifty quarterback puts a capper on Cocalico’s clutch win over Elizabethtown
He has firmly established himself as one of the best option quarterbacks in the Lancaster-Lebanon League.
And he’s only a junior – and he didn’t take over under center until the third week of his sophomore season.
He is Matt Carty, Cocalico’s signal-caller, and he’s a good one.
Carty was up to his old tricks last Friday, guiding the Eagles’ vaunted Veer attack to a clutch 35-34 win at Elizabethtown – knocking the Bears out of a tie for first place, while keeping Cocalico right in the thick of the Section 2 chase.
I caught up with Carty late Friday after he and his mates knocked off E-town. We chatted about the big win, about all the weapons at his disposal, and about how the Eagles will attack the next three weeks.
