Sorry! No audio package to go along with the Millersville grid this week. Tried like heck to catch up with a couple of Lancaster-Lebanon League alums, but our paths got crossed up. So all apologies for that … I’ll try and check in with some former L-L League players next week …

But please continue reading for a quick MU-Cheyney preview …

THE GAME: Cheyney (0-3 PSAC East, 0-6 overall) @ Millersville (0-3 PSAC East, 0-6 overall), Saturday, 1 p.m., Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

ONLINE: Marauder Sports Broadcasting Network — www.millersville.edu/~athletic – with Domenic Panza and Brad Chandler.

THE SERIES: MU leads 52-4-1 in a series that dates back to 1951. … MU has won the last 24 games in a row, including a 16-0 victory last year. … Cheyney’s last win in the series was in 1983 (21-20).

THE COACHES: MU’s Greg Colby is in his first season with the Marauders. … Jeff Braxton is in his first season with Cheyney after serving as the o-coordinator for Delaware State the previous three seasons. He also served as an assistant coach for Cheyney, Delaware State, Bowie State, Hofstra, Towson, Fordham, Wesleyan, Morehouse and Tennessee State. … Braxton played o-line for Salisbury State.

ABOUT MILLERSVILLE: Marauders are 0-6 for just the second time since 1969. Last 0-6 start was in 2002. … Andy Tischbein had eight catches for 111 yards in last week’s 49-24 loss to nationally ranked Bloomsburg. … QB Bill Shirk went 22-of-33 for 228 yards and two TDs against Bloom. … Matt Booker scored the first two TDs of his career against Bloom. … Last 0-3 start in PSAC East was in 2003. … MU has allowed more than 400 yards of offense in all six games, and allowed more than 400 rushing yards in a game twice so far this season. … Shirk has passed for 554 yards and five TDs in his three starts, since replacing Jamal Smith, who shifted to WR.

ABOUT CHEYNEY: Wolves led Kutztown 13-7 at the half last Saturday before falling 31-13. … Had just 69 rushing yards and 131 passing yards in loss to Kutztown. … Darryl Jones had seven catches against Kutztown – one for a TD. … Turned the ball over three times in the second half against Kutztown. … Averaging 11.2 points a game and giving up a PSAC-worst 42.6 points a game. … QB Ronald Thompson averages 134 passing yards a game, and he’s rushed for 122 yards. … Jones has 16 catches. … Chinoso Okoro has rushed for a team-high 298 yards. … Plus-6 turnover ratio, which is second-best in the PSAC.

THE PICK: I know the Marauders are struggling, but they won’t lose to Cheyney right? Right? A couple of 0-6 teams here, so somebody is picking up win No. 1. And that team will be Millersville, which will hand Colby his first win, snap this losing skid, and make it 25 wins in a row over the Wolves. MU 35-14.
