Eagles’ coach previews Friday’s showdown vs. Elizabethtown

Cocalico coach Dave Gingrich // LNP photoBig, big, big game in Section 2 this week in Elizabethtown, where the 3-0 Bears will welcome 2-1 Cocalico for a much-anticipated showdown.

Don’t forget: E-town was 9-0 overall last year when the Bears hit the road for Denver. Four quarters later, Cocalico sprang the upset, knocked E-town from the ranks of the unbeaten, and forced a tie for the section title between the Bears and Solanco.

Fast forward to this Friday – both teams are playing well, and both teams will bring high-powered offenses into the game. Cocalico’s Veer attack has piled up more than 2,000 rushing yards through six weeks – tops in the league – and E-town’s grind-it-out Wing-T attack is averaging more than 350 yards a game.

It should be a beauty.

I chatted with Cocalico coach Dave Gingrich about the matchup, and how his Eagles are looking heading into Friday’s big game.
