Plenty of top-notch performances in Week 6.
Here are the three that grabbed my attention in this week’s Reinhart’s ‘3 Stars’ …
Zacc Groff, RB, Wilson – Super game for the Bulldogs’ speedster, who rushed for 148 yards on just 10 carries and scored four touchdowns in Wilson’s 48-13 win over Hempfield. The Bulldogs have a ton of weapons, but Groff has been Wilson’s top rusher with 523 yards and he has a team-best nine rushing touchdowns.
Dan Wertz, Manheim Township – Tough to list a position for this kid these days. He does a little bit over everything for the Blue Streaks, who remained in a tie for first place with Wilson and Penn Manor with a 40-14 win over Cedar Crest. Wertz was all over the place for Township, rushing for 158 yards on 24 carries and scoring three rushing touchdowns; he also completed 2-of-4 passes for 37 yards; and he tossed a TD pass to Matt Curcio, giving him four total TDs vs. Cedar Crest. The jack-of-all-trades back (he takes plenty of snaps in Township’s ‘Razorback’ package) has been terrific wherever he’s lined up.
Kyle Fisher, RB, Cocalico – Another huge game by Fisher, who continues to use his blazing speed to pile up some pretty amazing numbers. In the Eagles’ wild 53-38 win over Lebanon, Fisher rushed for 230 yards on 19 carries and scored four touchdowns – two from over 50 yards out. He had 196 yards on 14 carries in the first half alone for Cocalico, which piled up 419 rushing yards against the Cedars.
