Some sad news to pass along … Former Garden Spot student-athlete Andrew Nolt has lost his battle with Ewing’s Sarcoma cancer.

I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew last spring, when some of his former classmates organized a ‘Hoops for Hope’ basketball tournament to help Andrew and his family with medical expenses.

I went over to the basketball tournament with my daughter that day, and I was amazed how many people were packed into Garden Spot’s gym, playing basketball, making donations and having a great time — for Andrew and his family.
