Comets’ coach talks about going up against his former teacher, McCaskey’s Scott Feldman

Penn Manor coach Todd Mealy // LNP photoAnother week, another chance for Penn Manor to stay unbeaten and atop the L-L League Section 1 standings.

It’s been quite a start for the Comets, who continue to amaze under second-year coach Todd Mealy.

It will be a homecoming of sorts for Coach Mealy on Friday, when he takes his Comets back to his old stomping grounds – McCaskey – for a Section 1 tussle against the Red Tornado.

Mealy and Feldman go way back – Mealy played for Bishop McDevitt while Feldman served as an assistant coach on that staff. And later, Mealy served as Feldman’s defensive coordinator at McCaskey, before taking the Penn Manor job prior to the 2007 season.

Still best of friends, Mealy and Feldman go head-to-head for a couple of hours on Friday night.

In this audio Podcast interview, I chatted with Coach Mealy about his days playing and coaching under Feldman, what he learned from his former teacher, and what it’s like matching wits against him on a Friday night. We also chatted about Penn Manor’s great start, and where the Comets hope to go from here.
