Reinhart’s ‘3 Stars’ for Week 5

Sorry for the delay on some of these posts — every L-L League coach decided to send me his stats at the exact same time, so that’s kept me busy here the last day or so.

Putting a bow on Week 5, here are my 3 Stars …

Hempfield’s Eric Macik - 206 rushing yards, 3 TDs vs. McCaskey // LNP photoEric Macik, RB, Hempfield — I’ve been waiting for Macik to have that big, breakout game, and he delivered against McCaskey, rushing for 206 yards and scoring three touchdowns in the Black Knights’ wild 45-26 win. His TD runs covered 25, 5 and 23 yards, respectively, as Hempfield rebounded from the loss to Penn Manor in the section opener, and got right back in the race.

A-C QB Nate Myers — 7-for-8 for 214 yards, 2 TDs in win over Northern Lebanon // LNP photoNate Myers, QB, Annville-Cleona — What a game by the Little Dutchmen’s signal-caller, who completed 7-of-8 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns to lead Annville-Cleona to a 21-20 win over cross-town rival Northern Lebanon. The Dutchmen improved to 2-0 in the section, and handed the Vikings their first loss this season in the process. Myers tossed a 65-yard TD pass to Dean May, and he heaved a 98-yard TD pass to David Weidler — which was the go-ahead score.

Garden Spot WR Tyler Eby - 7 catches, 174 yards, 3 TDs in win over Lebanon // LNP photoGarden Spot QB Weston Martin - 293 passing yards, 5 TD tosses in win over Lebanon // LNP photoWeston Martin, QB, and Tyler Eby, WR, Garden Spot — I’m going teammates on my final selection. What a night for these guys, who torched Lebanon’s secondary in the Spartans’ 35-21 win over the Cedars. Martin completed 17-of-24 passes for 293 yards and tossed five touchdown passes — three to Eby, who hauled in seven catches for 174 yards and a trio of scores as Garden Spot moved into a three-way tie for first place in Section 2, and handed Lebanon its first loss this season. Martin hit Eby for 27, 22 and 26-yard TDs, respectively. Martin also hit Derek DeShaw for a 25-yard TD, and he flipped a 3-yard TD pass to Max George. Don’t forget: Garden Spot at Elizabethtown for first place on Friday. I’ll be blogging live from Bear Country.
