Barons’ two-way threat chats about clutch win over Cocalico

Manheim Central’s Dakota Royer — huge night on both sides of the ball vs. Cocalico // LNP photoDakota Royer was a one-man wrecking crew last Friday night in Manheim Central’s 56-33 win at Cocalico in the L-L League Section 2 opener for both teams.

Not that blue-chip junior struggled over the first three weeks of the season, but against the Eagles, he went bananas, and showed why college scouts are already drooling over him.

On defense, Royer piled up 11 total tackles and had a sack, and on offense, he hauled in eight catches for 157 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Barons, who wiped out the bad taste in their mouths after back-to-back to losses.

I caught up with Royer late Friday after the win over Cocalico, and we chatted about the keys to the victory, how his game is developing this season, and where Central goes from here.
