Week 4 is in the books. Here are my ‘3 Stars’ from the week that was …
James Capello, senior QB, Lebanon – What a season for the Cedars’ blue-chip signal caller, who continued to amaze in the L-L League Section 2 opener. Check it out – Capello completed 18-of-27 passes for 320 yards and he tossed five TD passes, giving him a league-best 12 TD tosses this season. Capello also had a TD run for the Cedars, who walloped Ephrata 42-20 and improved to 4-0.
Joe Good, senior RB, Lampeter-Strasburg – Finally! A victory for the Pioneers, who routed Columbia 41-0 behind Good, the Pioneers’ pesky fullback, who piled up 186 rushing yards on 20 carries. Good had TD runs of 34 yards and 1 yard, respectively, and he also hauled in a 24-yard TD catch from QB Christian DelRocini as the Pioneers improved to 1-3 overall – and snapped a two-game scoreless draught in the process.
Jeremy Knosp, senior QB, Manheim Central – What a game for Knosp, who didn’t enter the game to play quarterback until the Barons’ first series of the second quarter, yet he wound up completing 19-of-31 passes for 321 yards and five touchdowns in Central’s 56-33 victory at Cocalico. Benched in favor of junior Just Gorman, Knosp played wideout in the first quarter before Barons’ coach Mike Williams called for Knosp in relief early in the second quarter. And he did no disappoint with the five TD tosses and helping the Barons pile up 456 yards and 24 first downs.
