Still marveling over Dakotah Lightfoot’s performance against Daniel Boone on Saturday night.
Columbia’s scatback rushed 23 times for 331 yards and five touchdowns (including the game-winner in OT) in the Crimson Tide’s wild and wacky 48-47 victory in Birdsboro.
Just took a few minutes to go back and check for the Lancaster-Lebanon League record for most rushing yards in a game, and I was able to dig it up.
Cocalico’s Tab Musser had 29 carries for 404 yards in the Eagles’ 28-13 victory at Lebanon Catholic on Nov. 1, 1996.
So that record has been on the books for a while.
Lightfoot certainly challenged it.
To my knowledge, the second-best individual single-game rushing effort was by Cedar Crest’s Jaren Hayes, who piled up 375 yards on 28 carries – and scored four touchdowns – in the Falcons 39-21 win at Hempfield on Sept. 24, 1999.
