… at 1:05 a.m. before I put Friday night’s games (and myself) to bed:
McCaskey has been outscored by a whopping 110-27 (lost to Elizabethtown 53-7; lost to York high 57-20). … Two overtime games in one night – and in both cases, the L-L League team lost: Manheim Township fell to Red Lion 3-0 and Elizabethtown fell to Muhlenberg 28-27 when the Bears misfired on a two-point conversion in the extra session; Township had a shot at a game-tying field goal in OT, but the kick was deflected. … Raise your hand if you have Lebanon, Wilson, Penn Manor, Hempfield, Cocalico and Northern Lebanon being 2-0. … Great time at Wilson on Friday night. Thought the live blog went over very well, with plenty of terrific comments and questions sent in from the fans. Had a blast. … Looks like Lancaster Catholic did indeed bounce back in a big way with a 44-7 win over Ephrata – which has now been outscored 97-7. Ouch. … Speaking of ouch: What’s up with that Columbia score? Crimson Tide gave up 61 in a loss to York Surburban? Didn’t see that one coming. … L-L League teams that were 0-1, but bounced back with wins in Week 2 – Lancaster Catholic, Warwick, Reading, Donegal. L-L League teams that were 0-1, but suffered losses in Week 2 – Annville-Cleona, Manheim Central, Garden Spot, Elizabethtown, Manheim Township, Elco. … Teams that are 0-2 going into Week 3 – Lampeter-Strasburg, Conestoga Valley, Columbia, Pequea Valley, McCaskey, Cedar Crest. … Games to Watch in Week 3 (and why) – Cocalico @ Annville-Cleona (Thursday night game; don’t miss it, it’s the only game in town); Elco @ Lebanon (Bologna Bowl! Cedars try and go 3-0); Lancaster Catholic @ Manheim Central (that about says it all, no?); Manheim Township @ Elizabethtown (both teams coming off OT losses; Streaks want redemption from last year); Warwick @ Ephrata (George Male Trophy up for grabs); and Fleetwood @ Pequea Valley (no, I’m not cracking up; PV’s last win – in 2006 – was against Fleetwood). … TONS coming soon. Start checking my blog and the L-L League Insider starting Sunday and Monday for rankings, a notebook, stats, etc, etc, etc.
