Bulldogs’ coach recaps big win over Governor Mifflin, previews showdown vs. Manheim Central
Wilson coach Doug Dahms was spoiled a bit when his football team returned to training camp last this summer.
Eight starters from last year’s defensive unit were back in the saddle for Dahms and his Bulldogs.
And these weren’t just any eight starters – these were eight starters (including all four linebackers) from the L-L League’s top-ranked defense, which allowed a miniscule 156 yards a game last season.
That group was up to its old tricks in Wilson’s opening-night win over rival Governor Mifflin, holding the Mustangs to just 129 yards in the Bulldogs’ 35-14 victory.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire for Wilson and its heavy-hitting defense: On Friday night, Manheim Central, which racked up 574 yards of total offense in its opening-night win over Susquehannock, is coming to West Lawn for a superb non-league showdown.
I had a chance to chat with Coach Dahms on Tuesday, and in this audio Podcast, you’ll hear that interview, with the ‘Dawgs’ boss chatting about the big win over Mifflin, and giving us the lowdown on the showdown with Central.
