Spartans’ football coach puts a bow on win over Warwick, previews Hempfield showdown
There is most definitely a good vibe around Garden Spot’s football team, which opened the season with a 17-14 victory over Warwick last Friday night.
It was a terrific win for the Spartans, who knocked off a Warriors’ team that was coming off a 9-2 season – and two straight trips to the District 3 Quad-A playoffs.
It was also a terrific momentum-building win for Garden Spot, which goes from the frying pan into the fire this Friday, when high-powered Hempfield – fresh off a 41-13 win over Conestoga Valley on Opening Night – pays a visit to New Holland.
Garden Spot coach Matt Zamperini was gracious to take a couple of minutes after Monday’s short practice to chat football with me.
In this audio Podcast interview, hear Coach Z wrap up his team’s clutch victory over Warwick, and give us a scouting report on this Friday’s big game against Hempfield.
