Recent Penn Manor graduate Kier Blevins competes in national lacrosse showcase

Penn Manor grad Kier Blevins playing in the national lacrosse senior showcase in Chicago // submitted photoKier Blevins, a 2008 Penn Manor grad, was selected to play in the 2008 U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase at Benedictine University in Chicago, June 20-21st.

The U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase features the top senior high school players in competition representing the North, South, East and West regions of the country.

After defeating the West All-Stars in the semifinals, the East All-Stars were defeated by the North All-Stars 15-14 in overtime in the championship game.

Blevins, who plays attack, scored three goals for the East All-Stars, and received the Sportsmanship Award at the annual awards banquet.

Penn Manor grad Kier Blevins will play college lacrosse for Salisbury University // submitted photoBlevins will be attending and playing lacrosse for Salisbury University, the two-time defending NCAA Division 3 national champions and winners of five of the last six NCAA Division 3 national titles.
 
There were five players from Pennsylvania selected for the 2008 U.S. Lacrosse National Senior Showcase: two from the east, two from the west and one from central Pennsylvania.

The other central Pennsylvania finalists in the selection process besides Blevins were Chris Zielinksi from Manheim Township, Sean Sheehe from Hempfield and Tyler Gerz from Conestoga Valley.
 
Playing for Penn Manor the last two years, Blevins was a team captain, and an L-L League First Team All-Star at attack.  He also played for the Blue Mountain team, coached by Hempfield’s Doug Bailey, which won the gold medal at the 2007 Pennsylvania Keystone State Games.
