Diet update for August 15

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted.

I’m up to here (if you could see me, I’m pointing to my eyebrows) in L-L League football previews, so I’ve been swamped lately.

So on to the diet update for this week …

Well, this was bound to happen.

I beg to report that for the first time since May 8, I (gulp) gained weight … as far as I can tell.

Been having problems with the scale. It’s been fluctuating all over the place. Like one day it’ll say I’ve gained 10 pounds. And then 15 minutes later it says I lost three pounds.

I really need to get it re-calibrated.

But after a few frustrating tries just now, the same number kept popping up – and that number was larger than the number a week ago.

It hasn’t been the greatest week ever. My schedule is picking up, so I’ve had to eat on the run a few times. And the family has eaten out several times over the last 7-8 days, and even though I continue to get chicken or turkey when we dine out … well, eating out is eating out. And that stuff – chicken or turkey or otherwise – has more calories than the stuff I’ve been eating all summer.

I’m glad to report that I have not missed a day on the treadmill. In fact, as I write this, I just got done walking for the second time today – including a 5:45 a.m. trip downstairs to the treadmill. Ugh.

If nothing else, gaining weight will fire me up. I definitely learned a few things over the last week – like how tempting it is to just grab something on the go when I’m busy. That’s gotta stop – pronto.

I feel good about where I’m headed, and I’m still focused to the max.

An update …

STARTING WEIGHT: On May 8, I weighed 319.
LAST UPDATE: On August 7 I weighed 270.
CURRENT WEIGHT: 272. Hey, I told you I’d tell you if I gained. And for the first time since I got started, I gained.
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS TO DATE: 47 pounds.
NOTABLE: Ate out too many times, which meant more calories, and too much soda. Still drinking water like a fish, and proud to say I’m walking more than ever. But my intake over the last week changed – for the worse. Gotta make things better the next week. Keep your fingers crossed.
