I wanted to post results from my diet on my blog for one big reason:
To keep myself honest.
I figured that if I posted how much weight I lost (or even gained), it would motivate me to keep on chugging … to keep on walking … to keep on drinking water.
And I have continued to do that, and yes, I think posting my results every week has kept me on the straight and narrow. Trust me: It ain’t easy posting online for everyone and anyone to see how much you weigh, especially the first few weeks.
But here’s the crux of my problem right now: I just wish we’d stop going out to eat so much!
Hardy-har-har.
It is summertime, and with a lighter workload, we have more time to do our thing – which includes eating out every now and again. I have done my absolute best to order chicken and/or turkey dishes when we’re out, and I’ve cut down on desserts – and I only drink diet soda when we’re out.
Sorry – just had to write all that stuff to get it off my chest. This diet is going well, and I continue to lose weight – 43 pounds as of my last post, and that was in a little over two months, which still boggles my mind.
I lost again this week, but not much. The good news is that I lost, and that keeps me motivated for sure. I want to do this. Honest.
The bad news is that I am eating out a little too much, and I think that is catching up to me. My goal is to cut down on eating out so much, and to starting picking this up a little more.
Alrighty … an update:
STARTING WEIGHT: On May 8, I weighed 319.
LAST UPDATE: On July 17, I weighed 276.
CURRENT WEIGHT: 274.5. Yeah, I snuck the ½ in there.
TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS TO DATE: 44 ½ pounds.
NOTABLE: Disappointed in myself, I must admit. I’m still walking like a freak (although I missed a day, on July 23; it was just the second day I missed walking since May 8), drinking water and sticking to the diet. But eating out – even though I’m trying to watch what I eat when we eat out – has me in a rut for sure. Must. Regain. Focus. Now. And thanks to A.S. in Harrisburg for the tips. I’m trying, man!
