FORMER MANHEIM CENTRAL STAR SEVERS TIES WITH THE STEELERS, SIGNS TO PLAY FULLBACK FOR ST. LOUIS; HE’LL HEAD TO TRAINING CAMP THIS WEEK
According to this story in the online version of the St. Louis Dispatch, former Manheim Central standout and longtime Pittsburgh Steelers fullback Dan Kreider has signed a free agent deal with the St. Louis and he will report to training camp this week.
Kreider, who played his college ball at the University of New Hampshire and joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent, is set to begin his 10th professional season.
Kreider tore his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for the Steelers last season – his fifth as Pittsburgh’s starting fullback.
He left as an unrestricted free agent in January before latching on with the Rams, who open camp at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, this week.
Kreider and the Rams open the regular season on Sept. 7 with a game at Philadelphia.
St. Louis does not play Pittsburgh during the regular season.
