So I’m sitting on my couch watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Channel with my daughter Saturday morning at 8:30 when my cell phone started making noises.
It was an incoming text message – and it turned out to be some pretty good news about a local hero.
Former Manheim Central stud and current AFL quarterback Matt Nagy landed himself a pretty cool summer job – he’ll be the intern QB coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, starting Monday when the team gathers for camp at Lehigh.

When the Philadelphia Eagles open camp at Lehigh University next week, Donovan McNabb will have a new quarterback coach to work with.
He won’t be a full-time coach, and he very likely won’t be with the team when the Eagles break camp. But he will be in the trenches everyday working out with McNabb and the team’s other quarterbacks.
Former Manheim Central star and current Columbus Destroyers quarterback Matt Nagy has landed a spot as the Eagles intern QB coach this summer.
He’ll report to Lehigh on Monday.
“I’m just thankful for the opportunity,” Nagy said in a text message. “It’s a win-win situation for me.”
Nagy said his responsibilities will be working with the quarterbacks and the wideouts, and he said he hopes to be in meetings with coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg.
The Eagles have three quarterbacks on their current roster: McNabb, Kevin Kolb and A.J. Feeley.
Nagy just completed his sixth professional season in the Arena Football League, and he set three franchise single-season records for Columbus this season – 358 completions, 566 attempts and 4,450 passing yards.
He also tossed 74 TD passes and rushed for six scores, but Columbus went 3-13 overall – one year after reaching the Arena Bowl.
