Kyle Fisher rushed for 1,203 yards and 20 touchdowns last fall for the Eagles // LNP photoSo who was the breakout running back last season in the L-L football league?

Easy – just look to Denver.

Kyle Fisher earned the starting feature back job for the Eagles, and he did not disappoint, using his blazing speed to finish seventh in the league in rushing yards (1,203) and second in the league in rushing touchdowns (20) last fall.

Running behind an experienced line and a rugged fullback – Albright recruit Kyle Keller, who finished sixth in the league in rushing with 1,212 yards, plus five scores – Fisher earned the reputation for getting to the corner and turning on the afterburners.

He averaged a whopping 9.0 yards per carry, and helped Cocalico knock off eventual District 3 Triple-A champ Lampeter-Strasburg in Week 1, shock previously unbeaten Elizabethtown in Week 10, and reach the District 3 Triple-A playoffs after being picked to finish dead last in the Section 2 race – which Kyle shares a laugh about in this interview, by the way.

Cocalico fell to Hershey in the first round of Districts, but the Eagles – and Fisher — opened a lot of eyes.

Clean sweep — Kyle Fisher won the 100, 200 and 400 sprints in the L-L Meet last spring // LNP photoFisher went on to have a dynamite track and field season for Cocalico, sweeping the sprint events – 100, 200 and 400 – in the L-L League Meet, becoming the first male competitor to win all three of those events in one league meet.

So he’s poised for a big senior year – on the track and especially on the football field, where the Eagles very likely won’t be picked to finish last again.

In this second installment of audio Podcast interviews with returning football all-stars, hear Kyle wrap up last football season, including his thoughts on his 1-2 punch with Keller.

Also, he chats about prepping for this season, summer camp, the recruiting trail and the Eagles’ new prospects for this fall. And he’ll put a capper on his incredible track meet last spring, when he won every sprint race in sight.
