This is a double-barreled post:
First, a friendly reminder that as of Saturday morning, I’m on vacation – yeah, again.
I know it seems like only yesterday that we returned from our two-plus-week journey around the United States, but it’s been more than a month (I think).
We can only get this cool house at the beach in early June, so we had to grab it. So Jersey shore, watch out: here we come.
I’ll be back and ready to crank on Monday, June 16.
Not sure if I’ll post anything while I’m gone or not. Thinking about lugging the laptop, but it (and me) could use a couple of days off. So if you don’t see any posts this week, don’t fret. I’ll be back.
The second part of this post is my weekly diet update.
If you recall, I was a little curious last week as to why I only lost three pounds, after losing a combined 22 pounds in my first two weeks on the diet.
Hey, at least I lost weight, right?
Same story this week. I didn’t lose a ton, but I did continue to lose, which is terrific – and very good news, since we’ll be spending the next eight days at the beach, which means pizza, ice cream cones and fast-food galore.
So I’ll really have to watch it this week, and try and stay on my best behavior.
I won’t get my usual workouts, either. I haven’t missed a single day on the treadmill since I started on May 8, but there’s no treadmill where I’m going. But we are going to walk the boardwalk loop every day – 2 ½ miles down, 2 ½ miles back. That should help.
Still, this isn’t going to be easy … wish me luck.

STARTING WEIGHT: 319.
LAST UPDATE: May 29 – 294.
CURRENT WEIGHT – 290.
NOTABLE: OK, so I lost four pounds. Again, I’ll certainly take it, but I was secretly wishing for more because I’ve done such a good job exercising. I will definitely miss my treadmill next week while soaking in the sun. But I’m already looking forward to returning and climbing back on there. Another update when I return …
