SANGREY, RODICHOK, BECKER, KENEAGY, MEALY, POWERS MAKE THE LIST
The District 3 Triple-A boys’ volleyball all-star team has hit the streets, and I’m happy to report that six (6) Lancaster County players have made the list.
Leading the way is Hempfield standout and Ohio State recruit Shawn Sangrey, who was the only local player to be named to the first team.
Sangrey had a monster season for the Black Knights, helping the team win the L-L League Section 1 title, the league title (for the 15th time), reach the District 3 Triple-A title match, and advance all the way to the state Final Four.
Sangrey was named MVP of the PIAA Triple-A Tournament.
With more all-star lists forthcoming, Sangrey should depart Hempfield as one of the most decorated L-L League boys’ volleyball players ever.
One (1) Lancaster County player was named to the second team – Manheim Township senior outside hitter Tyler Rodichok, who helped the Blue Streaks reach the league tournament.
And four (4) local players were named to the third team – Penn Manor senior setter Chris Keneagy, Manheim Township sophomore outside hitter Will Powers (keep an eye on this kid) and Hempfield teammates Mike Becker, a junior setter, and Josh Mealy, a junior middle hitter.
When I get the Double-A all-stars, I’ll be sure to pass them along.
