The Blue Streaks, who have won the last two CPSLA boys titles in a row, will try and make it three straight when Township takes on Cumberland Valley for district supremacy on Friday.

The Streaks punched their ticket to the championship game on Wednesday compliments of a 7-5 semifinal victory over Carlisle in Neffsville.

In the other semifinal, host Cumberland Valley held off Warwick 10-8, denying the Warriors a return trip to the title game.

Township (17-8 overall) will meet Cumberland Valley (14-4) Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Millersville University’s Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium for the CPSLA crown.

The winner will advance to the Keystone Cup playoffs, and will play in a state semifinal game next Wednesday. The state title game is set for next Friday, also at MU.

Cumberland Valley topped Township 8-2 in a non-league game earlier this season.

In Wednesday’s games:

Manheim Township 7, Carlisle 5

Chris Zielinski scored three goals and Dan Wertz and Quint Miller added two goals apiece for the Streaks, who scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals and held off the Thundering Herd, which finished its season 14-7 overall.

Wertz and Miller also assisted on goals for Township, which outshot Carlisle 21-14.

Chris Gorham made 14 saves in goal for the Streaks, who are the three-time reigning Lancaster League champs.

Cumberland Valley 10, Warwick 8

Ian Lewis and Max Hoffman scored two goals apiece for Warwick, which outshot Cumberland Valley 36-29, but couldn’t overcome a 5-2 halftime deficit.

Lewis also assisted on two goals for Warwick, which finished its season 17-6 overall.

Hank Bushong, Kyle Sproles, Chris Manley and Ian Schmid added goals and Dakota Maurer had 13 saves in goal for Warwick, but the Warriors couldn’t stop Dustin Breakey, who scored four goals for Cumberland Valley.
