MILLERSVILLE’S JENNINGS NAMED EAST REGION TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

The USTFCCCA has named Priscilla Jennings (jr. Solanco HS) the East Region Women’s Track Athlete of the Year after the Millersville University junior broke four school records, won three events at the conference championships and qualified for four events at the NCAA D-2 Championships.

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced a men’s and women’s track athlete, field athlete and coach of the year for each of the eight Division II regions on Tuesday.

Jennings raced to three victories at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, winning the 800, 1,500 and 5,000 meters.

She set a meet record in the 800 (2:10.22) and enters the NCAA Championships with the third-fastest time in the 5,000 (16:54.82).

She broke school records in the 800, 3,000 (9:55.00), 5,000 (16:54.00) and the 4×800 (9:17.1) this spring.

Jennings qualified for the NCAA meet in the 800-, 1,500-, 3,000- and 5,000-meter races but chose to focus on the 5,000. The D-2 track and field championships will take place May 23-25 at Cal Poly Pamona University.
