So how did the Lancaster-Lebanon League do when it came to No. 1 seeds in the upcoming District 3 Track and Field Championships?
Not great.
But certainly not bad.
Seven local athletes earned a No. 1 seed for the event, set for Friday and Saturday at Shippensburg University. More previews to follow.
Here’s the list:
GIRLS TRIPLE-A
Alie Girvin, Penn Manor – No. 1 in the discus with a heave of 140-10. The Elon recruit is the defending champ in this event.
Jocelyn Witmer, Penn Manor – Girvin’s teammate is No. 1 in the pole vault with a qualifying clear of 12-0. She’s also the defending champ in this event.
GIRLS DOUBLE-A
Kayleigh Perry, Elco – The Raiders’ distance specialist is No. 1 in the 1,600-meter run with a qualifying time of 5:00.93.
BOYS TRIPLE-A
Tom Troxell, Cedar Crest – No. 1 in the 800 with a qualifying time of 1:52.54.
Mark Manno, Cedar Crest – Troxell’s teammate is No. 1 in the discus, with a qualifying heave of 161-8.
BOYS DOUBLE-A
Andrew Batula, Annville-Cleona – No. 1 in the high jump after clearing 6-11. He finished second in the district and second in the state in the high jump last spring.
Neal Fox, Lancaster Catholic – No. 1 in the triple jump with a leap of 44-2.
