Cocalico grad Sensenig named to U.S. women’s field hockey team, which is aiming for Olympics

Dana Sensenig // LNP photoIf the United States women’s field hockey team qualifies for this summer’s Olympic Games, a Cocalico grad will be on the field in China.

Dana Sensenig has been selected to the U.S. women’s field hockey team, which will compete in one last Olympic qualifying tournament, set for April 19-28 in Kazan, Russia.

Six nations will be competing in the tournament.

The U.S. team is training in Chula Vista, California, a San Diego suburb.

Sensenig, an Old Dominion grad, has made 30 international appearances, and the midfielder has scored five goals in international competition.

In 2007, she played in the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and in the AtaHolding Champions Challenge in Baku, Azerbaijan, representing the U.S.

Sensenig, a 2003 Cocalico grad, has been on the U.S. National Team since 2007.

Amy Tran, a 1998 Northern Lebanon grad, was also named to the U.S. women’s field hockey team.
