Columbia High School has announced the creation of an Athletic Hall of Fame.
The plan became official on Jan. 8, and the first class will be inducted on Friday, Sept. 19 when Columbia hosts Lampeter-Strasburg in a (safe to say, much-anticipated) Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 football game.
If you want to nominate a former Crimson Tide athlete, coach or friend of athletics, you can find nomination forms at:
Any Columbia school district building
Smith’s Hotel
Hinkle’s Pharmacy
Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce
Columbia Ledger office
Candidates for nomination must be an athlete, coach or friend of Columbia athletics, and athletes must be removed from participating at Columbia High School for five years.
Nomination forms will be available until April 30. After that, the Hall of Fame committee will meet and vote for the first class of inductees.
The nomination form asks that you write a 250-word explanation of why that person should be considered for the Hall of Fame.
The Columbia Hall of Fame committee consists of: Charles Reinhart, Wayne Hershey, Jodie Eck, Dennis Bachman, Barry Ford, Jim Smith, Carl Morrow, Rich Gerfin and Karen Kuhn.
