MVP: Hailey Carangelo – The Beavers’ sophomore had a breakout season, leading the team in scoring (15.6) and dropping in 19 3-pointers. Best stretch for me: four 20-plus-point nights in a row – 23 vs. Exeter on Dec. 29; 20 vs. Pequea Valley on Jan. 2; 23 vs. Annville-Cleona on Jan. 4; and 20 vs. Elco on Jan. 5. When big sister Samantha went down with mono on Dec. 28, Hailey took over, averaging 17.1 points in 10 games while Samantha rested. Her 27-point game against Girard College in the first round of States was spectacular. She absolutely, positively took over in the second half, scoring 21 points after the break, when the Beavers overcame an 11-point third-quarter deficit and won going away. Sister Sam finished her career with 1,002 points. Hailey will begin her junior season next winter with 646 career points.
